Our work

Our Shared Cultural Heritage works to experiment and give space to create new ways for museums and heritage organisations to work better for young people. There are three main areas to OSCH's programme – Working in museums, Our actions and Shared stories.

Our partners

We work with different partners to run their own projects and activities as hubs of the programme. These organisations apply the aims of OSCH to their local context, bringing together young people and heritage professionals to try out new interventions.

Working in museums

We believe young people should be both working and getting wider work-experience in museums. Find out how we are achieving that here.

Our action

We support young people to have agency to make a difference, spread their message and campaign for what’s important to them. We think that this is vital in order for them to take on leading roles in heritage. We achieve these aims through social action projects, campaigns, socially engaged work and more.

Shared stories

Many stories are ignored or misrepresented in mainstream culture. We believe that the more stories are shared, the more we can understand ourselves and each other, both now and in the past. Through storytelling, young people are bringing more stories of the UK and South Asia to light.
