Shahana Khaliq-Lyon

She was previously a Youth Worker for Glasgow Life Communities, working with young people in the South West of Glasgow while studying History and Politics. Shahana is driven to have young South Asian voices heard in Museums and Heritage. As a Scottish South Asian herself, she understands the barriers of misrepresentation and racism in museums as a legacy of the British Empire. She is committed to challenging museum culture and working with young people so that their voices are heard.
